Romero Britto is an internationally known artist famous for pop art using the brightest of colors. Born in Brazil he now produces art from his Miami studio.
Here Britto has designed a Mickey Mouse cookie jar unlike any you have seen before. It is a Mickey Mouse head with his chin in his hands. Colors abound with reds, yellows and white. It isn't just the color, but the "off center" designs which are unique and eye catching.
Only 2000 were made of this limited edition. A great collectible and eye-catcher if you can find one.
The certificate of authenticity states:
Pop artist Romero Britto uses vibrant colors and bold patterns as a visual language of hope and happiness. He has been credited with the largest public art installation in Hyde Park history, and exhibited at the Cincinnati du Louvre at the Louvre Museum - an art that appeals to all!
The size of the cookie jar is eleven and one-half inches by nine inches by eleven inches.
Interestingly, the ceramic jar is partly made of Dolomite, which is an ornamental stone. Dolomite is used as part of the glaze on ceramics to give this piece its particular look.

This is different ... Mickey Mouse is lying on the floor with a bowl on his back. Could be a fish bowl. It has a chocolate chip as a top handle.
One of the unique aspects about this cookie is the bowl is transparent. You can see the cookies inside (and how many are left). Most ceramic cookie jars are opaque so you cannot see instead.

Is this the worst Mickey Mouse cookie jar ever?
Gets our vote. Although some call it cute.
This cookie jar looks like a corn bucket and it has corn heaped on top for the lid. On the side is a picture of Mickey Mouse as a farmer. Shouldn't this be to hold corn instead of cookies? Who wants to eat cookies out of corn bucket?
This must be why Enesco went bust. Fourteen inches high, despite our thoughts about the idea for the jar - the more absurd it is the bigger a collectible it becomes.
Value and Pricing: We saw this Enesco Farmer Mickey Mouse corn cookie jar sell for almost $55. It had a small chip on the inside of the lid, but otherwise was in great condition.
If we are going to have corn Mickey cookie jars, then why not ... tomatoes!
Made by Treasure Craft, some will call this cute while we call it ridiculous. Farmer Mickey is holding a tomato in his right hand while looking at a barrel full of more tomatoes. Somehow tomatoes ... is also a cookie jar. About fourteen inches high.
Value and Pricing: We saw this Homegrown Mickey Mouse Cookie Jar in new condition sell for $40.

Orange so bright it almost looks plastic. This cream colored cookie jar has a bright orange lid and a yellow and orange scene on the front where Mickey is bringing out a big bowl of cookies.
